There are so many people who think losing weight is about cutting your calories intake to crazy low amounts. They go on roller-coaster diets, probably too many to count, and most of these people are unsuccessful in their weight loss efforts. These low-calorie diets are not successful because they slow down your metabolism, and this causes your body to enter into “metabolic adaptation” or ” starvation mode.” In starvation mode, the body burns very little calories because it is trying to hold on to the few calories it is being fed for energy. These diets cause you to feel exhausted & hungry, which is the reason for their lack of success.

There are do’s and don’ts when it comes to stripping away fat. The first is obvious: Burn extra calories. When you want to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you have currently been eating. By combining increased exercise with reduced food intake, you have a winning combination. And make sure to keep your calories on the higher end when first starting out (above 1,500 per day). Any less and your metabolic rate will slow down, you’ll feel like poo and you’ll never get those flat abs you’re working so hard to get.
